About Tea In Nagano Prefecture
Nagano Prefecture is an inland prefecture surrounded by mountains, with mountains covering approximately 84% of its land area. It is characterized by a climate with relatively low humidity and precipitation, as well as significant temperature fluctuations between day and night.
Tea cultivation is centered in the Iida and Shimoina regions at the southern tip of the prefecture, with production taking place in Iida City, Minamikiso Town, and other areas, including the Nakai Samurai Tea from Tenryu Village.
