About Tea In Ishikawa Prefecture
Ishikawa Prefecture is located in the Hokuriku region and includes the Noto Peninsula, which juts out narrowly into the Sea of Japan. Under the unique climate of the Sea of Japan coast, a distinctive food culture has developed.
“Kaga Bōcha” is a well-known tea from Ishikawa Prefecture. It is characterized by the fact that it is made by roasting the stems rather than the leaves, using a production method different from that of standard hojicha. Most Kaga Bōcha is made using the stems of the first flush tea harvest, and it is beloved for its nutty, roasted flavor.
