About Tea In Tottori Prefecture
Tottori Prefecture is a long, narrow region stretching from east to west, with mountains and forests covering approximately 80% of its land area. The Tottori Sand Dunes stretch along the coastline facing the Sea of Japan, while Mount Daisen, the highest peak in the Chugoku region, towers over the western part of the prefecture. Mount Daisen is designated as a national park and is blessed with abundant water sources.
In addition to “Mochigase Tea,” which has been produced since the Edo period, new initiatives are emerging, such as organically grown green tea, black tea, and roasted green tea produced in the area surrounding Mount Daisen.
